    Antique Photograph Glass Plate Print of Yacht AMERICA, 1863,. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. This is an extremely rare antique print from a glass plate of the schooner yacht AMERICA moored at the Boston Navy Yard, Charlestown, MA in summer of 1863. The photograph is in excellent condition with no tears or scratches. Very fine edges and margins. The image depicts the yacht AMERICA which was renamed the USS AMERICA by the US Navy and was mounted with three bronze Dahlgren Howitzer canons. This and one other sterograph also listed on eBay currently are the two oldest know photographs of the yacht AMERICA with her original raked masts. By 1870 her masts were more vertical and her hill lengthened. Behind the AMERICA are the sloop of war US MARION and beyond the ship of the line, USS OHIO built in 1820. This is a large image, 11 x 14 inches! It is a stunning piece of US history and very rare.
